SmartForms is a one-way electronic communication channel from the bank's client to the user of this application (here: the bank). It allows the bank's client to fill in PDF documents forms (e.g. L/C, Guarantees applications) and send them to the bank.
It is one step to achieve the goal for electronic file handling and digitization and can be used in parallel to other electronic communication channels between the bank’s client and the bank, like SWIFT SCORE, Bolero, allNETT, etc.
SmartForms messages are handled similar to any other incoming electronic message and the data is mapped into the appropriate fields of the business transactions. The content of the incoming PDFs is extracted and mapped automatically into the relevant processing fields of the application and the PDF will be stored for future reference with the transaction.
Using SmartForms, the bank can provide an efficient service, offered especially to smaller corporates with lower trade finance business.
How it works from a user perspective
There are two options to receive and handle incoming files in SmartForm format
Drag and drop a SmartForm document
The bank user receives the PDF, drags it over the PDF Receiver Iconin the application and drops it there. The PDF will be picked up automatically by Manager for Incoming Messages -SWITSK and a queue entry will be created (depending on the restart period defined in the manager, this might take a moment).
The bank user picks up the incoming entry from the To Do list and and gets all data transferred to the target transaction.
In the transaction
correct data is populated into the assigned fields
The received PDF file can be viewed at any time
SmartForm Template is available for Letter of Credit and Guarantee application Template is introduced recently for both direct and indirect type of Guarantee. The template is available in languages English and German.
