A Draft LC is used as a literal draft copy, after inputting all the mandatory details,
the Draft LC will be sent for the Applicant to review before issuing the actual LC.
To create a draft LC we have to use Pre-open (LITPOP) transaction in DOKA.
Select 'draft' option from dropdown field "Type of Request"
What is the Difference between draft LC and Pre-open LC ?
The possible values in type of request field are 'Pre-Opening' and 'Draft'.
In case of 'Draft'; no liability is booked and only the message 'LC Draft' to the applicant/
initiating institution is generated.
In case of 'Pre-Opening', the LC is pre advised to the advising bank / beneficiary side (usually
with a SWIFT MT705). Liability is booked accordingly.
To Create a Draft LC go to
Import LC >> Main >> Pre-open (LITPOP)
