To process business transactions and to create bookings for the general ledger, etc. Currencies are required. These are stored in the database using their respective ISO code for currencies.
Before running a conversion, the relevant currencies and conversion rates have to be stored in the system. A currency can only be used when it has first been entered in the system. The database already contains a selection of various currencies
The relevant rates can be used simply by entering the date. Margins for selling/buying rates are regarded in accordance with the administration of currencies.
Currencies :
To maintain Currencies, DBICUR transaction is used.
Select it from the menu item[Static Data -> Currency/Exchange -> Currency].
(Administrator and designer users can directly start this transaction by clicking the (Launch transaction ) available in the Panel headline without having to select the relevant menu )
To add a new Currency, click on the to create a new Currency.
Add in the relevant details and note the following;
Seq. in Exchange Rate table will determine whether (and where in the list) the currency will be included in the Daily exchange rates input .
General Ledger Base Rate is used to validate any exchange rate against, to prevent miss-keying mistakes.
If the new exchange rate is outside the G/L base rate +- Maximum tolerance, then you get an error for that exchange rates. See Exchange Rate Import - IMPXRT on how to keep the G/L base rate in step with latest exchange rates .
When you have made your changes, click on the ( ) Save function to save all the the data entered in the transaction to the database.
Exchange Rates:
The Exchange Rates is created for all currencies listed and the currency margins for the selling/buying rates to be considered.
To maintain Exchange Rates, DBIXRT transaction is used.
Select it from the menu item[Static Data -> Currency/Exchange -> Exchange Rate].

To add a new Exchange Rate , click on the to create a new Exchange Rates.
When you have made your changes, click on the ( ) Save function to save all the the data entered in the transaction to the database.
