What is the watch dog ?
The watchdog function helps cope with failures automatically by monitoring and restarting failed services.
With anomaly detection, forecasting or any related features, you can alert the right people at the right time.
How important is a watch dog in a software ?
Watchdog automatically detects issues in your data, such as latency spikes in your microservices, elevated error rates on any of your endpoints, or network issues in one of your cloud provider’s zones.
Is watchdog available in DOKA SAAS ?
Yes, This is feasible in DOKA SAAS using Transaction SYSWDR & SYSWDI. ( Not applicable to the user who designed their profile as a SaaS user in our user creation database )

SYSWDR :
This transaction contains all configuration, check and monitoring functions for the system. At a particular point in time (checkpoint) which is either scheduled automatically or triggered interactively, the Watchdog can execute a set of check rules from a given list of different check rules (topics).

SYSWDI :
This Transaction consist of all the latest queries checked and carried out and checks restarted. It also displays the date and time of the check occurred at latest.
It doesn't have the configuration ability, so can safely be used by Users who only need to authority to monitor rather than fix.
